I bought a 1999 Cadillac, 36,887 miles and it has everything imaginable, even "no hands" Onstar. Leather that is in perfect condition, 32V Northstar engine. I am very satisfied with it. I paid $17,491 for it. I read your column all the time and remembered that you had said that an extended warranty is a good investment. I paid $1,677 for an all inclusive five year, 75,000 mile warranty.

Yes, Bob, you did well. I believe extended warranties are essential these days, especially since repairs costs are so high.
