On Car Clinic, a caller inquired about a diesel additive. You said something about 1 ounce per 100 gallons. I am interested in this product and where I can purchase it or any other diesel additive products that you recommend.

Hello Bill,

We’ve researched numerous diesel fuel additives over some 6 months to determine which application was best for our local Car Clinic diesel customers and chose:

• BG Part no. 227D. 16oz bottle (1 oz treats 20 gal). It's a diesel fuel conditioner, lubricity agent and antioxidant designed as an anti-moisture treatment, as corrosion prevention in tanks (corrosion caused by new diesel fuel that has more water content) and as a fuel stabilizer (great for storage up to 1 yr). You can use this product in summer months.

• All-weather formula BG Part no. 247. (6 oz treats 30 gal - not as concentrated, but additional additives). This bottle includes all of the above, plus a pour depressant that lowers pour point by approx. 30°F. This ensures no wax crystals in cold weather.
