Ford F150 Engine Coolant Flush

From: Carl P.
Subject: Ford F150 Engine Coolant Flush

Bobby,

Back in December, I had my engine coolant flushed from my Ford F150 4.6 motor. Shortly after my heater core went out. I had that repaired. Not long after that, my motor overheated. I took it to the guy who put my heater core in thinking maybe he did something wrong. He looked at it and discovered my radiator was about half way clogged up. At this time I did not realize my motor had a warped head. What could have shop X done to cause my problems? I am pretty sure what caused it but I need some advice from an expert.

Thank you very much brother,

Carl P.

Carl,

I’d venture to say they didn’t cause the problem you are experiencing. How many miles were on the vehicle prior to any cooling system flush? Did you buy this truck new? If not, do you have any of its prior owner’s maintenance records? We use the BG service because its chemicals can dissolve much of the solids that contaminate cooling systems. We then add BG conditioners to every system we flush. You should go to www.bgfindashop.com and check out all of the services they list – which will provide you with a better view of what else might need to be done to restore your truck to better health.

Good luck,
Bobby Likis
