Subject: Bottled Fuel additives - which is the best?

Bobby,

I have a few questions about fuel, fuel additives and injector cleaners. I have a 1991 Volkswagen GTI 2.0 liter, 16 valve with 105,000 miles on it. I regularly use the bottled fuel injector cleaners, as I was told that using high-quality gas along with these additives cleans injectors and the fuel system almost as well as a fuel injector cleaning machine. What do you think?

The best fuel cleaner is not offered at local parts stores, but can be purchased at local new car and independent service shops that use the BG chemistry. Go to www.bgfindashop.com to locate one. The brand is BG 44K. Add one can to a full tank of gas. It's best to select a timeframe that dictates all in-town driving. This allows multiple cold and hot overnight stands, as the 44K washes away more debris when given time.

All gasoline blenders add detergents, but none contain enough chemicals to do the job.
