New Life with BG MOA®

From: Dennis
Subject: Valve Seals

Bobby,

Bobby, after going sometime without being able to find the BG 109, I added the BG MOA® to my Honda CB 1000 custom motorcycle (38,000 miles). It does seem that after only 100 miles of riding with the MOA that the engine has developed some noticeable new life!

Now, I've come to the conclusion that the valve guide seals have hardened because the bike is 24 years old and because it's a high-heat engine in the summer. I've checked with 3 motorcycle shops and all 3 said that if I replace the valve guide seals I might as well tear the engine down and do a complete rebuild. About $2,000, plus parts. The bike runs far too well to do this.

I've been researching different products that advertise that their product softens seals. I value your opinion as it seems that you are more concerned with giving the public the full story and not just what they want to hear. Hope to hear your show for many years to come!

Thanks,
Dennis

Dennis,

I'm happy to hear you located the BG products. The BG chemistry is unmatched in the marketplace. Also, I agree with your local motorcycle techs and do not recommend tearing the engine down - unless you're ready for the major overhaul. It's been my experience that one-part's-connected-to-another and disturbing one - affects the lot.

MOA already includes seal conditioners. Give MOA time - track performance enhances and take steps slowly. This is an old engine that deserves to smoke a bit, perhaps over time and thru BG 109, you may be pleasantly surprised. Just remember that old seals are just that - old.

Stay Tuned!
