Performance Oil Change

Steven, sorry we ran out of time on Car Clinic before I was able to get your call, I'm glad that I reached out and found you today.

Confirming our conversation regarding your engine, I recommend (and use in my own service shop) BG chemistry. Your car needs a "Performance Oil Change." Here are the steps:

  1. Find a local service shop (new car dealer or independent) that uses the BG chemistry and have them follow this "Performance Oil Change" procedure (to the letter, please).

  2. Make sure the engine is at normal operating temperature to optimize the chemistry.

  3. Add BG 109 to old oil, run 10 minutes at idling speeds and up to 3500 rpm or so (you can wait until it's time to change oil, but I'd rather you do this procedure immediately, regardless of oil change schedule). This is more about cleaning pistons and ring groove areas and restoring ring seal than it is changing oil.

  4. Drain old oil and refill with whatever brand you're currently using.

  5. Add BG MOA® to new oil.

  6. Drive as normal for 4K miles and repeat - then change oil every 5K miles.

  7. Call me with results at 888-Car-Clinic (10am - 12n ET Saturdays) with results.

Give my regards to the BG shops in Brooklyn.

Best Regards,
Bobby Likis
