High Mileage Oil Change

Subject: High Mileage 1997 Mazda Truck
Bobby,
My truck has 190,000 miles now. I have always used 10w-30 engine oil, since that's what the factory recommended. But everyone now likes thinner oils like 5w-30 or 5w-20. What would happen if I put 5w-30 oil in my truck now? And what advantages would it give me if any?
Thanks,
Chad

Chad,
If you have no problems/complaints, I recommend making no viscosity changes. But there is a new BG Performance Oil Change that will clean out your engine. This service is a must for any used car that one buys (no service history) and also for your 200K unit.
We have recently completed our test on this latest BG chemistry and the results were beyond (my) expectations.
Attached is a letter that I received yesterday from our test customer. Go to www.CarClinicNetwork.com to review my 10 Most Wanted Car Killers - good info bumper-to-bumper.
Sincerely,

RE: Long Term Test Results for the BG Quick Clean Service
As you know, I volunteered to use our 1991 Mazda 626 as a test bed for the new BG Quick Clean product.
This vehicle was chosen for the test because of its documented maintenance history and single ownership.
At the time of the BG Quick Clean service on March 2, the Mazda had 76,012 miles on the odometer. For the first 12 years of ownership, the Mazda never required any additional oil between changes. However, over the past 3 years, the Mazda began to consume oil at the rate of approximately 1/2 quart every 1,200 miles or less. Further, the crankcase oil had developed an odor of unburned hydrocarbons. The Car Clinic Service Department suspected that, rather than an internal engine wear issue, the problem was a buildup of carbon on the Mazda's oil rings that resulted in the rings becoming stuck in the ring lands. This allowed some oil to leak passed the rings and into the cylinders.
At Car Clinic Service, the vehicle was brought up to operating temperature and the BG Quick Clean product was added to the existing oil in the crankcase. The vehicle was then run in place for approximately 30 minutes. The oil was subsequently changed, a new filter installed and Motor Oil Additive (MOA) was added to the fresh oil.
Since March, the Mazda has accumulated 1,690 miles of mixed highway and city driving. To date, the vehicle has not consumed any oil. Further, the odor of hydrocarbons emanating from the crankcase oil has been noticeably reduced.
Based on the results observed with the Mazda, I plan to have the identical BG Quick Clean treatment performed on our 1979 Corvette that has only 42,000 miles and is beginning to have a similar oil consumption condition. I will apprise you of the results of the Corvette's long term BG test in a future message.
Thanks for sharing BG Quick Clean with your listening audience.
