Seville Transmission Problems

From: Jim
Subject: Seville Transmission Problems

Bobby,

Thank you so much for what you do...

I have a 1997 Caddy Seville with 110k mi. Took it to get transmission flushed... operator told me not to touch this tranny because of a problem with these trannys. He says it probably will not last much longer. Is he correct? I got the car with 87k mi. & do not know if the trans was ever flushed before and know it has not been done since I've had it.

I trust your judgment on this and will follow your suggestions... I love your program & plan to stop in next time I'm in Pensacola. I may even drive there next time I need service even though it would be a long drive. :)

Thanks,
Jim

Jim,

Have the trans flushed (using the BG solvent chemical) first. Immediately afterwards, pull the pan and replace the filter – top off as needed. It’s important that you flush first so the dissolved particles will be trapped in the old filter. We use a special machine for these (older) car services, especially when we are working with an unknown trans history.

Otherwise, wait and see what happens, but that’s not my advice.

Sincerely,
Bobby Likis
