Transmission Fluid Procedure

Subject: Transmission Dialysis Machine
Bobby,
How can I check the automatic transmission fluid on my 2005 Nissan Xterra? The dipstick has been replaced with a cap. And how do service shops check the condition of the fluid? Where is the top-off mark?
Thanks!
Mike

Mike,
At Car Clinic Service, we use BG's PF5 transmission dialysis machine that automatically removes old fluid and replaces the exact amount pumped out. This machine incorporates a rubber bladder that separates old contaminated fluid from new and will only replace what's removed.
The fluid should be changed every 30K miles to maintain the transmission's life. Otherwise, if there are no leaks, the unit needs no checking.
Should you need additional information, I suggest you ask your local BG shop. Go to www.bgfindashop.com to locate the nearest one. Also, I recommend you take a quick tour of our website to review my 10 Most Wanted Car Killers - great information (videos & graphics) on the entire drivetrain.
Best regards,
Bobby Likis
