Vehicle Life Fluid Changes

From: Loy C.
Subject: Vehicle Life Fluids

Bobby,

Again, thank you for your service. We have corresponded before. Today I wanted to know if there is a synthetic product or another product that is considered to be the best to use for transmission fluid (torq shift transmission)?

In addition, I would like to know what you would recommend for brake, power steering and rear end fluids/products?

Also, can the BG system be used on your brake, power steering or any other systems in my vehicle?

I am approaching 30,000 miles on my truck and will be changing my transmission fluid/filter and performing any other maintenance suggested. What would you suggest as to the intervals for maintenance for my transmission and other life fluids?

My wife typically drives this vehicle to work each day (16 total miles). We also use it for our primary vehicle (I have a company Ford Ranger I use for my personal vechicle). In the summer months (4), I pull a 5th wheel trailer and pontoon boat (separately), most of which time they are short pulls from the storage lot to the campground/lake. The only long pulls are when I take the units down to the lake area in the spring and return them in September, with the possible exception of a week vacation each year which could be anywhere from a 4 hour to 10 hour one-way trip.

Any other suggestions or comments would be appreciated!!!

Thanks.

Loy,

Good to hear from you. The best recommendation I can provide is to let you know that BG offers a Protection Plan for specific vehicles that covers drivetrain components. The program is made up of two parts. 1st is for vehicles still under OEM 36K mile 36 month factory warranty. The 2nd is for all vehicles under 50K miles. And provides 50% of “X” dollars.

The first plan includes “X” amount of dollars that cover transmission, differentials, power steering systems, and cooling systems serviced by the BG chemistry and fluids. I highly recommend finding a shop near you that is knowledgeable and current with BG. With each drivetrain components comes protection – at no additional charge – up to 150K miles (or 7-years) and all you have to do is change fluids every two years or 30K miles – unbelievable. This is the best-kept secret in the automotive aftermarket. And BG's synthetic transmission fluid is also recommended (especially for your Ford Diesel) as it is superior to factory installed.

You should also know that your new 6.0 engine uses a very sophisticated computerized system that can be expensive to repair, so it's to your advantage to stay ahead of the “service curve” if you know what I mean. While Ford publishes increased horsepower and torque over its older 7.3 Diesel, it is well known within dealer circles that technology adds a degree of potential extra expense.

Sincerely,
Bobby Likis
