ATF Used in Place of Chevy Sprint Gear Oil

Hi Bobby,

A few weeks ago, a man called your radio program about his Jeep, which he had trouble shifting in cold weather. You told him to try automatic transmission fluid in his manual transmission. My 1988 Chevy Sprint has a similar problem. Its transmission uses 80w90 gear oil. Can gear oil be replaced by ATF?

Absolutely, use the BG automatic fluid, which is fully synthetic. You'll love it!
